Arenal is 2,5 hours from SJO Airport / 3 hours from LIR Airport.Â
If flying in SJO consider doing Arenal as a first stop before heading to the Caribbean or the North Pacific.Â
If flying into LIR doing the North Pacific locations first is the most ideal.
It may take from 10 – 20 minutes to drive from place to place.
Wear any light clothing in the way possible. Closed shoes are a must, don’t miss wearing sunscreen and bug spray. For any water activities, you must carry some extra clothes and towels.

There are multiple ways to move around. Even though having a car gives you flexibility and mobility. This area calls to be explored and having a car assures you get the most out of it! A 4×4 is not really a must, since almost all the roads are paved.Â
